Remembering

I found out not too long ago that a childhood friend of mine had passed away.

We hadn't really talked in years. I had him on my facebook page and we would "like" each others posts and pictures here and there, say the occasional "hi, how are you" and move on. When we were little our parents were good friends. His brother and he were at my house a lot and I can remember all of the great wonderful memories that we shared. One of the best ones I can think of was him "marrying" his little brother and I when we were five! As time passed we lost touch. I went years without talking to him. Then at my dads funeral when I was 17, his dad and he stopped by. It was wonderful seeing them and meant the world to me that in my time of need they were there. That was the last time I saw him. He was such a good guy. The memories I have will not fade. Although we weren't close anymore he will always hold a special place in my heart.
